Swan’s death
I promised you a couple of more demanding shots and here it goes. We drove for 2 hours to reach this location (it’s Bohinj) and it was totally worth it. The weather was somewhat of a gamble; it was raining heavily and we had to wait for 45 minutes to go on the actual location. But when the shooting was scheduled, everything fell into place. This lovely mist above the surface of the lake was more than I could hope for. I would be happy just to have clouds. BTW; this is all natural light.
Big thanks for this goes to this wonderful ballerina. Her name is TjaĊĦa and she is in national rhythmic gymnastics team. I wanted a model who will look authentic in this dress and she was my first and only choice.
Another thanks goes to my assistants; Mojca and David who patently did more than I asked of them. And last but not least; thanks to Salsa dance store where I borrowed these beautiful outfits.

This is my grandma… She is 90 years old (yes, I know, quite impossible to tell, right). Well, she’s been born under italian fascist occupation… At 14 she had to leave home and start living on her own (small countryside households were impossible to support too many hungry kids). Her first job was in Trieste. And it was a good one too. There she learned everything there is to know about dress making. But then world war II put her on the side against fascism. There were a couple of times when she barely escaped imprisonment or even death. Fortunately war came to a close before anything like that happened. Not long after that her first born son died as an infant. Of course, that was just before penicillin. But she didn’t give up and in the following years my aunt and my mother were introduced to this world. That was in the early 50’s. From then on she supported her family with her husband for more than one following generation. My grandfather worked on railway while she worked as a tailor and a freelance fashion designer. In communist Yugoslavia good clothes were in short supply so whoever wanted something a bit more special came to her. I still believe that my affection for visuals comes from the hours when she was babysitting me. We share(d) love for colors, patterns and stuff like that. ;) Today she is long retired but she still enjoys flowers and nature. But above all, I respect her wit and humor with which she observes and comments this crazy world. ;)
